The first U.K. singer I ever paid to buy a ticket for was Chris Rea.
I could see him at 16/10/1987 @ Nakano Sunplaza Hall.
I think it was the first time that On the Beach was playing in the TV commercial for Mazda Etude released at that time.
He immediately liked his husky voice and bought a CD.
Shamrock Diaries and Dancing With Strangers are still important albums to me.
The performance at Nakano Sun Plaza was very satisfying as one of the guests.
It’s a good memory that I was able to stand up and take steps at the end of the performance.
His best-selling new record, New Light Through Old Windows, features Max Middleton, a renowned keyboard expert.
Every track has a great finish, but the solo performances at the Steel River, which marks the end of the UK record, are amazing!
From then on, I was able to collect his work and almost complete it.
It is of course nice that he, who was once threatened by pancreatitis, returned safely and delivered his work again.
Please come back to Japan and I’ll see him again.
See you soon.
