I myself am an ordinary person who enjoys listening to music.
I have bought and collected many vinyl records, CDs, videos, LDs and DVDs.
Fortunately, I was able to go to live concerts with many favorite singers.
Currently I can’t see the live due to the new coronavirus, but I believe that I can see it again in the near future.
There are some singers who are still alive and can’t see the live yet.
I would like to write about those people instead of a love letter for the performance in Japan.
The first is DON DIXON.
I think I got to know him around 1986, after his solo debut album.
I think he was covering NICK LOWE’s Skin Deep and got caught in my antenna.
I immediately liked the debut album, Most of the Girls Like to Dance But Only Some Of The Boys Like To.
Especially when I heard the live cover of the last track, When a Man Loves a Woman, I can’t forget the impression.
His second album, Romeo at Juilliard, is one that I especially like.
The cover of Cool in the musical “West Side Story” is the best!
And his original song, SWALLOWING PRIDE, is very beautiful.
I have collected his works more than I can fit in the pictures on this page.
However, his arrival in Japan has not materialized.
As a Japanese fan, I would really like to see this happen.
See you soon.
