For me, Tom Waits is the artist who has long been hoping for a performance in Japan but has yet to fulfill it.
He performed in Japan in 1977 and 1978, but unfortunately I was 13.14 years old and didn’t know him yet.

What I knew about him was the 1985 album Rain Dogs.
His strange singing voice and strange music matched well with the background music when I played Broken heart.
When I listened to his album in an apartment near the university, I often remember being asked by my friends when I asked him, “What’s this?”

“Down by Law,” in which he starred, I went to the cinema many times.
It is an imitation of the lines in the play.
I also liked his acting in “BEARSKIN”, I remember his left straight hitting a punching bag was speedy.

The image is a stub of the first day when the documentary film “Big Time” was shown on 17/3/1989.
I wonder if this remains because I haven’t seen the live performance.

I’m sure there are many Japanese fans who want to see his live show.
I haven’t given up.
