Neil Young

I first learned of Neil Young in a video clip of 1986’s Touch the Night.
A naive, thin singing voice, in contrast to a fat and violent guitar sound.
I immediately learned the name, but for some reason I felt a distance from him.

The Japanese translation of lyrics is important to me.
When the album “Life” was released, the Japanese version was first preceded by Vinyl and the CD was a month later, so I remember getting lost and buying Vinyl.

On 29/04/1989 I was able to see his live show for the first time.
I just made my debut as an employee of a department store on April 1st, and I am amazed that I took a paid holiday on a busy holiday in the bubble economy.

I’ve checked the setlist for the day on the internet right now, and I’m still surprised to hear that he played the previously unreleased “Rockin’ in the Free World” twice.
I think this song and Hey Hey, My My weren’t the main points he wanted to convey this day.

I buy his album a lot, but not all of them.
I feel such a message from him that he refuses such a persistent relationship.

Still, if he has a chance to come to Japan, I hope to get his current message.

See you soon.
