At the live of THE POGUES, I have experience that I could not go because of my personal failure.
Even though I bought an advance ticket at a performance in Japan in 1988, my reckless driving wrecked my car on the eve of the live, and I was shocked that I could not go to the concert.
Around this time, I had the same bad habit of heavy episodic drinking as Shane MacGowan. Now I’m regretted and improved.
Unfortunately, Shane left the band, but I was uplifted when JOE STRUMMER came as a support member of the band when they came to Japan in 1992.
I invited the same friend who couldn’t go to the last performance.
The venue on the day of the performance was Tokyo Bay NK Hall, which had not been demolished at the moment, but it had a nice atmosphere.
I still remember vividly when JOE STRUMMER sang “London Calling”.
At the same time as the introduction of the song begins, the effect of the super-large cracker that was launched is revived in my mind.
Unfortunately, JOE STRUMMER also died.
I know that he is still loved by many fans, and I wish him all the best.
See you soon.
