I loved STRAY CATS, so when the trio stopped playing and each of the three moved to solo, I was lost as a fan.
I went to see the trio live for 3 years in a row from the live @ Kawasaki I wrote before, and I could see it twice in 1992.
It was the Nippon Budokan performance on November 4th, but when playing Instrumental’s masterpiece Santo & Johnny‘s “Sleep Walk”, the discreet rendition of the mirror ball and BRIAN’s guitar worked well and it was a great memory.
The following year, BRIAN performed a solo performance in Japan.
Inviting his younger brother, GARY, as a guest was intended to mourn his deceased father.
I’m currently listening to the live CD at that time, and I have confirmed again that the performance content was very good.
I remember a friend of the guitarist who accompanied me, praising GARY for playing the guitar hard.
Three weeks before the debut Japanese release, I went to see his orchestra perform.
BRIAN’s various attempts are all good, but for me STRAY CATS is ICHIBAN.
I also want them to come to Japan in a trio, but I have a pain in my lower back, so I want you to prepare a seat. On floor standing, it’s difficult for me to go see a performance.
See you soon.
