The expression industrial lock was used in Japan.
Yoichi Shibuya, the founder of rockin’on magazine, started using it on the radio around 1979.
In the United States, it has the same meaning as stadium rock, arena rock, and corporate rock.

By the time I started listening to American and British music, those bands were very popular in Japan.
It wasn’t my main hobby, but I can’t resist the trend.
I didn’t collect CDs or Vinyls from those bands, but I can recall the days when I saw some of the cassette tapes I still had.

TOTO is one of those representative bands.
I was invited to this concert by a friend who was a classmate in 1979.
I remember laughing at Steve Lukather, who used to be a refreshing young man, because his appearance and stage costume changed like heavy metal.
